This seems to be a common question especially to the newer fitness enthusiasts so I will briefly explain it to you in the simplest way possible. IIFYM stands for "If It Fits Your Macros.
You may have seen an Instagram post of a fit bodybuilder enjoying two big macs and some fries with the hashtag #IIFYM and you're scratching your head how they stay shredded while eating junk food. It all comes down to your macros if you're unaware of macros and its structure I will be writing a separate blog on that as well to go more in depth with it. Essentially its the break up of your daily caloric intake. So it's a formula dividing different food groups into section that you must consume by the end of the day.
That burger that they ate may have been half a days worth of food and they will be suffering from an empty stomach for the rest of the night but boy was it worth it!
As I mentioned before I will go more in depth with macros and how to do IIFYM yourself so that you can also make gains with the foods you love, it's the beauty of bodybuilding and fitness!
